Just near the big town of Guerneville is a small enclave of Rio Nido that rests on the canyon along a creek that winds its way towards the river. The town is encircled with huge pines and redwoods and enriched with decent restaurants and stores. Here again, the Russian River Valley is the best option for entertainment in addition to the best wineries of North California. But, Rio Nido itself has richness in its recreational activities. Activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming and boating can be enjoyed in the river valley. Plus, the Armstrong Woods State Park is at a short distance from Rio Nido which provides camping opportunities along with biking and hiking and horseback riding!
