Sunol situated alongside Niles Canyon is renowned for its landmark railroad system. It is located near Alameda Creek adjoining two railroads. Worth checking out is the Niles Canyon Railway Depot which is the last remaining example of a design called “One-Story Combination Depot #7.” Another architectural marvel is the Sunol Water Temple and has Roman inspiration. Three water mains congregate here before moving on to San Francisco. You can also enjoy a picturesque drive to Fremont on the Nile Canyon Road.
