The University of California, Berkeley was founded in 1868 and is the oldest campus to be associated with the University of California. The University campus flourishes over 1232 acres and the exquisite buildings were designed in the Beaux-arts style by the extremely talented architect John Galen Howard. The campus has abundant natural beauty in the form of lush wooded areas such as Faculty Glade, Founders’ Rock and the Eucalyptus Grove. Two branches of Strawberry Creek also run through the campus enhancing its pulchritude.
