The most populous city of Butte County is the majestic Chico city, the economic, educational and cultural center of the Northern Sacramento Valley. The city is officially nicknamed ‘The City Of Roses’! Chico city was founded in 1860 and was a home to a significant Chinese American settlement but unfortunately, they were driven out by the arsonists. The lavish history of Chico city also includes the establishment of a ‘Green Line’ on the western city limits as a protective measure to agricultural lands. Very beautifully, the city rests on the floor of Sacramento Valley rendering to the city a wholly flat terrain.

Chico is also the home to the largest municipal parks in the U.S, the Bidwell Park. Kendall Hall, the administrative segment of the city is also one of the noted structures in the city. Apart from being the most populated city in the county, Chico is also popular as a well-managed economy that values quality services and infrastructure, maintaining a special essence of a small town.
