Nestled between the two mountain ranges of Gabilan and Santa Lucia and located just ten miles south of Salinas in the Monterey County is the authentic town of Chualar. It is actually a rural community pioneered by the Hispanic population; though a drive through Chualar today would be like some trip through time! The town is known for its farms and fields of vegetable crops and is often referred to as the ‘Salad Bowl’. The ethnic agricultural styles and rustic beauty of the mountains entice the guests and though you might not find luxurious hotels and inns here, a decent place could be sought easily. And then, after all it is a country side where you could renounce the material lavishness and cuddle up in the natural setting!
