When you enter the city Colfax, you get to see a bronze statue on the stands on Main Street near the railroad station. This statue is erected in the honor of Vice President Schuyler Colfax (1869–73) after whose name the city has derived its name. It’s restored train depots in houses the Colfax Museum and the Chamber of Commerce. The downtown shops on the main street and the Colfax High School serve as the main points of the city. In the centre of the town, the passenger railway station of the city at 99 Railroad Street is situated. A local bus system is there to endow with the service throughout Nevada County.
