Snuggled away about 36 miles northeast of Sacramento, Coloma bears a rich shimmering past! This was where gold was first discovered in California and today, it is known as a ghost town. Elevated at a height of 764 feet, Coloma is recognized for the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Though it is a ghost town today, many people inhabit this pastoral place surrounded by old and antique buildings converted into museums and several other historical displays. Adventure lovers would enjoy here with a lot of activities; the Marshall Park is an awesome site to lay eyes on. The Coloma Valley is in itself a beautiful landscape and you could enjoy whitewater rafting and kayaking during the summers.
