Named after the Native American tribe, Concow Maidu, the town of Concow is a census-designated place in Butte County. The original inhabitants of Concow depended on the Salmon from the River Feather, pine nuts & acorns from the trees of the area and other food sources. Even the current inhabitants of the valley include a few original Maidus and one can find common relics of the Maidu tribe in the form of stone tools and beads around them. Concow is regionally popular for a significant domestic products; the region also comprises of marijuana agricultural productions which contributes about 2-3% of California’s total production. Overall, it’s a pastoral charm of the county!
