Nestled in the north western corner of San Mateo County is the community of Montara which proudly bears the endangered and rare species of Hickman’s potentilla. Very nearby to Montara are the Santa Cruz Mountains that render an emphatic picturesque. The town is encircled by open spaces and a renowned recreational area which includes the Montara State Beach. It is an almost mile stretch of sand drops that proceed towards the sea and though it might be dangerous to swim here, surfing can be enjoyed to the greatest extent. The best part of Montara is its exclusively mild weather which entices several visitors and tourists. The lighthouse out there is extremely significant to be visited; it is one of the oldest here and carries its rich culturally past. Apart from that, it is the beach area and the serenity of the town that is to be enjoyed!
