An eminent town of the Californian Gold Rush times, North Columbia is even today an essential charm of the Nevada County. By far, this is one town in the county that carries a richer past than any other town in the county. While travelling through the rustic streets of North Columbia, one would easily notice the ancient ruins of the structures and buildings; in fact the Columbia Hill School still stands tall and it has been renovated into a cultural center. It is here that several events has held throughout the year, such as the Sierra Storytelling Festival and the North Columbia Folk Festival which are very colorful and alive. Yet another historic magic in the town is the Foote’s Crossing Road. Lost into the past cultures of the town, you would adore staying in North Columbia.
