Ornamenting the State Route 49 on the San Juan Ridge in the Nevada County is the vivacious community of North San Juan. Originally a Gold Rush mining town, the town captures the center stage in Mother Lode’s crown along with few other petite towns of the county. Lying to the northeast of the Nevada City, North San Juan bears an amazingly pleasant climate characterized by warm winters and mild summers. A delightfully ancient ghost town of the county, the town limits includes eight beautiful brick buildings dating back to the 18th century and several other structures and churches are amazing to watch! The ancient beauty is a sort of treat to the eyes!
