Pleasanton, named after Major General Alfred Pleasonton but spelled differently due to a typographical error, is the richest mid-sized city in the United States of America. It is home to the Alameda County Fairgrounds where an annual county fair is held towards the end of June. It also presents an interesting potpourri of historical architectural styles in its buildings such as gothic, pioneer and colonial Nicknamed P-town, Perfect for that country getaway, Pleasanton has a quintessential small town essence replete with a farmers’ market and traditional first Wednesday celebrations and Friday concerts in the park.
