North to the city of Sacramento on the River Feather is the exquisite Plumas Lake which is better called a master-planned exurb. Located just before the confluence of the Bear River with the River Feather, Plumas Lake is a distinct settlement of its own and this place also played a significant role in the Californian Gold Rush. Plumas Lake was originally a part of Olivehurst but is now a separate entity standing on its own and also attracting a lot of visitors seeking natural tranquility and charm. There is also a park and ride facility which was opened just a few years ago and is certainly one of the few places in Yuba County where one can relish true serenity.
