Representing the rustic outlands of the Monterey County is the beautiful little community of Prunedale, located just 8 miles north of Salinas. While one drives down the streets, the beautiful countryside backdrop is thoroughly enticing and in the hills just above Prunedale bears one of the little known colonies of Yadon’s Piperia which is a rare species of the wild orchids. They are thoroughly beautiful! Plus, the Manzanita Park and Royal Oaks Park nearby offer great options for recreation. Basically, much the land in Prunedale is reserved to protect the Californian native trees, so staying here and visiting the town would be a great option for holidaying!
