Cuddled in the centre of northern San Mateo is the petite belle town of San Bruno located just about 12 miles south of San Francisco downtown. Enjoying a pleasant Mediterranean climate, San Bruno is flooded with numerous parks, recreation and opportunities as well. There are some portions such as the Crestmoor, Rollingwood and Mills Park that are hilly and feature some ravines and canyons; the western side of the skyline boulevard features the San Andreas Lake. Plus, the San Bruno City Park, which is surrounded by the El Crystal School and Crystal Springs Avenue, is the principal municipal park. There are many shaded hiking trails and walkways, a ballpark, picnic tables, playgrounds and also a recreation center. Several other such parks are distributed around the town and these add to the scenic beauty of the town!
