San Mateo is in fact one of the largest suburbs of San Francisco Peninsula and is precisely located between Burlingame in the north and Foster City in the east, Highlands-Baywood Park and Hillsborough to the west and Belmont to the south. San Mateo bears the Coyote Point Park which is perhaps the natural-most area, a rock outcropped peninsula that beautifully juts out into the bay. This coyote point is today the home to the Coyote Point Museum which is the best natural historical museums as well as wild life centers of California. This place is an abode to several natural habitats including riparian zones, mixed oak woodlands and also bayland marshes. Prominent places of visit include the San Mateo Performing Arts Center, which is probably one of the largest theatres on the peninsula, the Bay Meadows horse-racing tracks, the Japanese Tea Garden as well as the San Mateo Arboretum.
