A small city surrounded by the larger city of Seaside on most of the sides is the Sand City. The city is located just 2 miles northeast of Monterey and it is predominantly a commercial community with a number of retail stores. The western side of the city is a growing artists’ area and a number of street fairs conducted here display the skills and talents of the rising artistic stars. Residents and tourists here love biking through the city streets or spending a day shopping and visiting the local eateries. The annual West End Celebrations are also featured in the city which is an exciting fusion of the art and industry. The celebration is a great blend of dance, live music and excellent street performances. Though the city is mostly industrial, one could surely have a lovely time here amidst the artists’ colony, beautiful streets, great scenic backdrop and pleasant atmosphere.
