The largest city of the county is undoubtedly the city of Ukiah, positioned in the easternmost portion of the county and in the center of the Russian river valley. Ukiah is one of the upcoming wine-producing regions and is certainly the loveliest place in Mendocino County. This typically small but attractive city is just about two-hours from San Francisco and boasts of its pretty buildings and abundant scenery. You might love the typical Victorian style of architecture here which is evident from its gingerbread-laced buildings, antique kiosks, art galleries and even the little speciality stores. Apart from the cultural richness of the city of Ukiah, there are also quite many museums you could loiter around; the Grace Hudson Museum is a great option. Lodging and accommodation would not be a worry here and one could thrive on the lavish B&Bs here. Restaurants serve delicious ethnic cuisines along with the regular fast food junk!
