Amidst the pleasant Willow Trees and the high Eucalyptus, along the lazy river of Sacramento is the historically rich community of Walnut Grove. It bears the authentic storefront buildings on the front line of streets and provides the nearby waterways as a great way of recreation. Sites of interest in the Walnut Grove include the tall radio and television transmission towers along with the popular Delta Meadows State Recreational Area. Locke is a very nearby community which along with Walnut Grove is a great combination for enjoyment and holidaying in the truest sense. A number of hotels and resorts offer spa facilities to top it off and as far as the dining is concerned, a number of renowned restaurants such as Al’s Place, Giusti’s, the Pizza Factory, Tony’s Place and Wimpy’s are worth trying. For recreation, the Boathouse marina, Snug Harbor Marina, Walnut Grove Marina, the River Park, wildlife area and the public dock are good choices.
