Not to be confused with the county name, Yolo is a pretty small town located just 3 miles north of Woodland. The name ‘Yolo’ comes from the word ‘yoloy’ which is a Native American word meaning ‘a place full of rushes’. There has been no confirmed evidence of the history of this town but tourists traveling to Yolo County do have a great time exploring the town. So when you are in the big city of Woodland and have discovered all the sophistication in the city, you could opt to drive down to the old small town of Yolo and revitalize in the town’s freshness. It is after all great to explore the authenticity of the old town!
